Study on forest disturbances ignores the main drivers of current forest change in Europe: deforestation and land use
Our email correspondence with the authors of the study “Climate change will lead to increased forest damage in Europe over the course of the 21st century”, in which we criticise the omission of facts and call for a correction.

On 27 May 2026, we demand that the study be amended to include the fact that it is not the climate, but primarily deforestation and land use, that are responsible for forest disturbances.
